Headliner: Service and Repair





Headliner

Removal

All vehicles
1 Remove the roof opening panel shield. For additional information, refer to Roof Opening Panel Shield Service and Repair




2 Remove the roof opening panel securing plate.
- Remove the 15 screws.

All vehicles
3 Make the air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS) safe. For additional information, refer to Standard Workshop Practices Standard Workshop Practices
4 Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Specifications Battery and Charging System
5 Remove the RH rear seat. For additional information, refer to Rear Seat Rear Seat
6 Remove the 4 door aperture weatherstrips.




7 Remove the A-pillar trim panels.
- Right-hand side shown, left-hand side similar.
- Remove the 2 Torx screws.
8 Remove the LH B-pillar trim panel. For additional information, refer to B-Pillar Trim Panel B-Pillar Trim Panel
9 Position the RH front seat fully forwards.

NOTE:
Release the front safety belt lower anchor bolt cover clip upwards and away from the front seat base side trim panel.
NOTE:
Raise the seat base for access.
Remove the safety belt lower anchor bolt cover from the RH front seat.
1) Carefully release the clip from behind the RH front seat base side trim panel.
2) Remove the cover.

NOTE:
Lower the seat base for access.
Release the safety belt lower anchor from the RH front seat.
- Remove and discard the bolt.

Right-hand shown, left-hand similar.
Remove the 2 rear bolts from the RH front seat.

Right-hand shown, left-hand similar.
Remove the 2 front bolts from the RH front seat.
- Position the RH front seat fully rearwards.

14 Reposition the RH front seat to the central position.
- Reposition the RH front seat backrest to the fully upright position.
- Lower the RH front seat head restraint to the fully lowered position.





15 Reposition the RH front seat for access.
- Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors.

NOTE:
Make sure no damage is caused to the vehicle trim when removing the front seat.
With assistance carefully remove the RH front seat.
- Fit protection around the door aperture to protect the interior.

18 Release the 4 clips from the RH B-pillar trim panel.

19 Remove the LH C-pillar upper trim panel. For additional information, refer to C-Pillar Upper Trim Panel C-Pillar Upper Trim Panel





20 Release the RH C-pillar upper trim panel.





21 Remove the RH C-pillar lower trim panel.
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Release from the clips.





22 Release the RH rear safety belt lower anchor.
- Remove and discard the bolt.

23 Remove the RH C-pillar upper trim panel.
- Reposition the RH rear safety belt through the RH C-pillar upper trim panel.

24 Remove the LH rear quarter trim panel. For additional information, refer to Rear Quarter Trim Panel Rear Quarter Trim Panel





25 Remove the RH rear quarter trim panel.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.

26 Remove the LH sun visor. For additional information, refer to Sun Visor Service and Repair

27 Release the RH sun visor from the sun visor clip.





28 Remove the RH sun visor mounting trim panel.
- Carefully release the RH sun visor mounting trim panel.

29 Remove the RH sun visor.
- Remove the 3 screws.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.

30 Remove the RH sun visor clip from the headliner.
- Remove the screw.

31 Remove the overhead console. For additional information, refer to Overhead Console Overhead Console

32 Remove the center interior lamp. For additional information, refer to Center Interior Lamp Service and Repair





33 Remove the 4 grab handles.
- Release the grab handle screw covers.
- Remove the screws.
- Remove the grab handle mounting plates.





34 Remove the 2 cargo net hangers.
- Reposition the cargo net hanger covers.
- Remove the screws.

Vehicles with roof opening panel

35 Remove the 2 screws from the headliner.

All vehicles

NOTE:
The 4 screws are located behind the center overhead console.
Remove the 4 screws from the headliner.





37 Carefully release the 1 clip from the rear of the headliner.

NOTE:
Remove the headlining from the rear of the vehicle.
With assistance, carefully remove the headliner.

Installation

All vehicles
1 With assistance, install the headliner.
2 Secure the 1 clip to the rear of the headliner.

NOTE:
The 4 screws are located behind the center overhead console.
Install the 4 screws to the headliner.

Vehicles with roof opening panel

NOTE:
The 2 screws are located behind the front console access through sunglasses bin.
Install the 2 screws to the headliner.

All vehicles
5 Install the 4 door aperture weatherstrips to the headliner.
6 Install the 2 cargo net hangers.
- Install the screws.
- Reposition the cargo net hanger covers.
7 Install the 4 grab handles.
- Install the grab handle mounting plates.
- Install the screws.
- Tighten the screw to 7 Nm. (5 lb.ft).
- Secure the grab handle screw covers.
8 Install the center interior lamp. For additional information, refer to Center Interior Lamp Service and Repair
9 Install the overhead console. For additional information, refer to Overhead Console Overhead Console

10 Install the RH sun visor clip to the headliner.
- Install the screw.

11 Install the RH sun visor.
- Connect the electrical connector.
- Install the 3 screws.

12 Install the RH sun visor mounting trim panel.
- Secure the RH sun visor mounting trim panel.

13 Secure the RH sun visor to the RH sun visor clip.

14 Install the LH sun visor. For additional information, refer to Sun Visor Service and Repair

15 Install the RH rear quarter trim panel.
- Connect the electrical connector.

16 Secure the RH rear quarter trim panel.
- Secure the 4 clips.

17 Install the LH rear quarter trim panel. For additional information, refer to Rear Quarter Trim Panel Rear Quarter Trim Panel

18 Install the RH C-pillar upper trim panel.
- Reposition the RH rear safety belt through the RH C-pillar upper trim panel.

19 Secure the RH rear safety belt lower anchor.
- Tighten the new bolts to 45 Nm (33 lb.ft).

20 Install the RH C-pillar lower trim panel.
- Install the 2 screws.
- Secure the clips.

21 Secure the RH C-pillar upper trim panel.
- Tighten the bolt to 6 Nm (4 lb.ft).

22 Secure the RH rear door aperture weatherstrip.

23 Install the LH C-pillar upper trim panel. For additional information, refer to C-Pillar Upper Trim Panel C-Pillar Upper Trim Panel

24 Install the RH B-pillar trim panel.
- Secure the 4 clips to the RH B-pillar trim panel.
- Install the Torx bolt and tighten to 6 Nm (4 lb.ft).

25 Secure the RH front and rear door aperture weatherstrips.

NOTE:
Make sure no damage is caused to the vehicle trim when installing the front seat.
With assistance carefully install the RH front seat.
- Remove the protection from around the door aperture.

CAUTION: Make sure the wiring harness is installed to its original position.
Reposition the RH front seat for access.
- Connect the 4 electrical connectors.

NOTE:
Make sure the 3 seat rail covers are fitted to their original positions. Note: The inner front seat rail does not have a seat rail cover.
Install the 2 front bolts to the RH front seat.
- Align the RH front seat locating pegs.
- Position the RH front seat fully rearwards.
- Tighten the RH front seat front bolts to 45 Nm (33 lb.ft).

NOTE:
Make sure the 3 seat rail covers are fitted to their original positions. Note: The inner front seat rail does not have a seat rail cover.
Install the 2 rear bolts to the RH front seat.
- Position the RH front seat fully forwards.
- Tighten the RH front seat rear bolts to 45 Nm (33 lb.ft).

30 Attach the safety belt lower anchor to the RH front seat.
- Install a new bolt and tighten to 45 Nm (33 lb.ft).

31 Install the safety belt lower anchor bolt cover.

32 Reposition the RH front seat to the original position.

33 Install the LH B-pillar trim panel. For additional information, refer to B-Pillar Trim Panel B-Pillar Trim Panel

34 Install the A-pillar trim panels.
- Secure the 2 clips.
- Install the Torx bolts and tighten to 6 Nm (4 lb.ft).

35 Secure the RH door aperture weatherstrip.

36 Install the RH rear seat. For additional information, refer to Rear Seat Rear Seat

37 Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Specifications Battery and Charging System

Vehicles with roof opening panel

38 Install the roof opening panel securing plate.
- Install the 15 screws.

39 Install the roof opening panel shield. For additional information, refer to Roof Opening Panel Shield Service and Repair
