2UR-FSE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL MOTOR: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
HINT: When viewed from the rear of the engine assembly, Bank 1 is on the left side and Bank 2 is on the right side.
1. INSPECT CAM TIMING CONTROL WITH EDU MOTOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(c) Turn the tester ON.
(d) Enter the following menus:
(1) Intelligent tester - Select: DATA LIST / VVT-iE MOT B1 or VVT-iE MOT B2.
(2) Techstream - Select: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DATA LIST / VVT-iE Mot Direction B1 or VVT-iE Mot Direction B2.
OK:
HINT: If not as specified, replace the cam timing control with EDU motor assembly. If symptoms still do not disappear, replace the wire harness.
(e) Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
(f) Put the engine inspection mode Inspection Mode Procedure.
(g) Turn the tester ON.
(h) Warm up the engine.
(i) Enter the following menus:
(1) Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / ACTIVE TEST / VVT-iE B1 or VVT-iE B2 / PRIMARY / VVT-iE AIM ANG1 and VVT CHNG ANG#1 or VVT-iE AIM ANG2 and VVT CHNG ANG#2.
(2) Techstream - Select: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the VVT-iE Linear (Bank 1) or Control the VVT-iE Linear (Bank 2) / All Data / VVT-iE Aim Angle (Bank 1) and VVT Change Angle (Bank 1) or VVT-iE Aim Angle (Bank 2) and VVT Change Angle (Bank 2).
(j) Perform the Active Test operation with the engine speed at 1500 rpm.

HINT: If not as specified, perform the cam timing control with EDU motor assembly and camshaft timing gear assembly inspection Inspection.
