How to Proceed With Troubleshooting





NAVIGATION / MULTI INFO DISPLAY: NAVIGATION SYSTEM: HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING

* Use the following procedure to troubleshoot the navigation system.
* *: Use the Techstream.
1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE

(a) Measure the battery voltage with the power switch off.

Standard Voltage:

11 to 14 V

If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding to the next step.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

3. DIAGNOSTIC QUESTIONING AND SYMPTOM CONFIRMATION

(a) Ask the customer about symptoms and confirm malfunctions.

4. OPERATION CHECK

(a) Refer to Check System Normal Condition Operation Check.

5. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM*

(a) Check for DTC output How to Proceed With Troubleshooting.

6. CHECK FOR DTC*

(a) Refer to DTC Check/Clear Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

If more information is needed, perform a check using the "System Check Mode" screen after checking for DTCs using the Techstream.

7. DTC CLEAR*

(a) Refer to DTC Check/Clear Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

HINT
The present DTCs may not indicate actual malfunctions depending on the vehicle operating conditions.

8. RECHECK FOR DTC*

(a) Refer to DTC Check/Clear Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

HINT
* Even if the malfunction symptom is not confirmed, check for DTCs. This is because the system stores history DTCs.
* If more information is needed, perform a recheck using the "System Check Mode" screen after rechecking for DTCs using the Techstream.
* Check the DTCs and inspect the area that the code indicates.

9. DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART

(a) Find the output code in Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart Navigation System.

NOTICE:
* The navigation system outputs DTCs for the following system.
* When DTCs other than those in Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart for the navigation system are output, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart for the relevant system.
* Audio and visual system (w/ navigation system) Audio and Visual System (w/ Navigation System)

10. CHECK HARD DISK DRIVE

(a) Enter the "Failure Diagnosis" screen. Refer to Check Hard Disk Drive in Operation Check Operation Check.

OK:

"OK" is displayed.

NG -- REPLACE HARD DISK DRIVE Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

11. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

(a) Refer to Problem Symptoms Table Problem Symptoms Table.

If the symptom does not recur and no DTC is output, attempt to reproduce the symptoms How To Proceed With Troubleshooting.

12. PERFORM TROUBLESHOOTING BASED ON MALFUNCTION SYMPTOM

(a) Refer to Terminals of ECU Pinout Values and Diagnostic Parameters.

13. CHECK CIRCUIT

(a) Adjust, repair or replace as necessary.

14. RECHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE
