EXTERIOR: REAR BUMPER: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PLATE LH





(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the rear bumper plate.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

2. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PLATE RH

HINT
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

3. REMOVE REAR BUMPER COVER

(a) Put protective tape around the rear bumper cover.

(b) Using a clip remover, remove the 6 clips.

(c) Remove the 6 screws.

(d) Remove the 2 rear bumper seal brackets.

(e) Detach the 18 claws.

(f) Disconnect the No. 3 floor wire connector.

(g) Remove the rear bumper cover.





4. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER





(a) Remove the rear bumper energy absorber.

5. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ARM REINFORCEMENT LH





(a) Detach the 6 claws and remove the rear bumper arm reinforcement.

7. REMOVE REAR BUMPER NO. 1 REINFORCEMENT





(a) Remove the 8 bolts and rear bumper No. 1 reinforcement.

9. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Spare Tire) Removal

10. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH Removal

11. REMOVE ROPE HOOK Removal

12. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY Removal

13. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD RH Removal

14. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT ASSEMBLY Removal

15. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER COVER (w/ Rear Cooler) Removal

16. REMOVE FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER Removal

17. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Spare Tire)

18. REMOVE TOOL BOX (w/o Spare Tire) Removal

19. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE Removal

20. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH Removal

21. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY RH Removal

22. REMOVE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH Removal

23. REMOVE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH

24. REMOVE REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER LH





(a) Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips and remove the rear bumper upper retainer.

25. REMOVE REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER RH

(a) Using a clip remover, detach the wire clamp and 2 clips and remove the rear bumper upper retainer.

26. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH





(a) Remove the 5 screws.

(b) Using a clip remover, detach the clip and 5 claws and remove the rear bumper side support.

27. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH

28. REMOVE REAR BUMPER LOWER SIDE RETAINER LH





(a) Remove the screw.

(b) Using a clip remover, detach the claw and remove the rear bumper lower side retainer.

(a) Remove the 4 screws and grommet.

(b) Using a clip remover, detach the 3 claws and remove the rear bumper lower retainer.
