DESCRIPTION
The main body ECU (driver side junction block) continuously monitors the luggage compartment door opener cancel switch. When the luggage compartment door opener cancel switch is OFF, a luggage door opening switch signal is sent to the luggage closer motor from the main body ECU (driver side junction block) via CAN communication. This activates the power trunk opener operation, which opens the luggage compartment door. When the luggage compartment door closer switch is ON, the luggage closer motor activates the power trunk closer operation. When the key is held, and the luggage door opening switch is ON or the key's LUGGAGE switch is pressed, the luggage closer motor activates the power trunk lid opener operation.

1. LUGGAGE CLOSER FUNCTION INSPECTION
(a) Set the luggage compartment door so that it is ajar, and check that the closer motor operates normally.

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING SWITCH, LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER CANCEL SWITCH)
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the switches.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING SWITCH)
(a) Disconnect the L13 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the L3 switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK)
5. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the luggage compartment door opener cancel switch Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER CANCEL SWITCH Components
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER CANCEL SWITCH)
(a) Disconnect the L11 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the L83 switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK)
7. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR)
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the switches.

9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER SWITCH)
(a) Disconnect the S43 motor connector.
(b) Disconnect the S40 switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- END (MAIN BODY ECU IS DEFECTIVE)
10. INSPECT LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the luggage door opening switch Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR - LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING SWITCH)
(a) Disconnect the S43 motor connector.
(b) Disconnect the S38 switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK -- REPLACE LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY Components
12. CHECK MAIN BODY ECU (OPERATION)
(a) Temporarily replace the main body ECU (driver side junction block) with a new or normally functioning one.
(b) Check that the power trunk opener and closer system is normal Operation Check.
OK:
Power trunk opener and closer operation is normal.
