Installation
2AZ-FXE ENGINE MECHANICAL: ENGINE UNIT: INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR
(a) Install a new gasket onto the engine coolant temperature sensor.

(b) Install the engine coolant temperature sensor.
Torque : 20 Nm (208 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)
2. INSTALL ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Clean the threads of the engine oil pressure switch assembly.

(b) Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the engine oil pressure switch assembly.
Adhesive:
Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1344, Three Bond 1344 or equivalent
(c) Using a 24 mm deep socket wrench, install the engine oil pressure switch assembly.
Torque : 15 Nm (153 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)
3. INSTALL RADIO SETTING CONDENSER
(a) Install the radio setting condenser with the bolt.
Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
4. INSTALL KNOCK SENSOR Installation
5. INSTALL IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY Installation
6. INSTALL OIL COOLER PIPE
(a) Install a new gasket and the oil cooler pipe with the bolt and 2 nuts.

Torque : 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf)
(b) Install the No. 4 water by-pass hose with the 2 clamps.
(c) Install the No. 3 water by-pass hose with the 2 clamps.
7. INSTALL NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE
(a) Install a new gasket and the No. 1 water by-pass pipe with the bolt and 2 nuts.

8. INSTALL THERMOSTAT Installation
9. INSTALL WATER INLET Installation
10. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Install a new gasket onto the cylinder head.
(b) Temporarily tighten the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly with the 5 nuts.
(c) Tighten the 5 nuts in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque : 37 Nm (378 kgf-cm, 27 ft-lbf)
11. INSTALL NO. 2 MANIFOLD STAY
(a) Install the No. 2 manifold stay with the bolt and nut.
Torque : 44 Nm (449 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)
12. INSTALL MANIFOLD STAY
(a) Install the manifold stay with the bolt and nut.
Torque : 44 Nm (449 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)
13. INSTALL ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE
(a) Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring.
(b) Install the O-ring to the engine oil level dipstick guide.
(c) Install the engine oil level dipstick guide with the bolt.
Torque : 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf)
14. INSTALL ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK
(a) Install the engine oil level dipstick to the engine oil level dipstick guide.
15. INSTALL NO. 1 INTAKE MANIFOLD INSULATOR
(a) Install the No. 1 intake manifold insulator onto the cylinder block.
16. INSTALL NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE
17. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD
(a) Install a new No. 1 intake manifold to head gasket.
(b) Install the intake manifold with the 5 bolts and 2 nuts.

Torque : 30 Nm (306 kgf-cm, 22 ft-lbf)
18. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY Installation
19. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE WITH INJECTOR Installation
20. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the V-ribbed belt tensioner with the 2 bolts.
Bolt A - Torque : 52 Nm (530 kgf-cm, 38 ft-lbf)
Bolt B - Torque : 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)
21. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT Installation
22. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
23. INSTALL ENGINE HANGERS
(a) Install the 2 engine hangers with the 2 bolts.
