Removal





2UR-FSE IGNITION: IGNITION COIL AND SPARK PLUG: REMOVAL

NOTICE:
While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is OFF, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal or open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

2. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Spare Tire) Removal

3. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH Removal

4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
* w/ Navigation System (for HDD):
After the power switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

Waiting Time before Disconnecting Cable from Negative (-) Battery Terminal:





* When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

5. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP

(a) Remove the service plug grip Removal.

6. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

8. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH Removal

9. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal

10. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET Removal

11. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE Removal

12. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY LH Removal

13. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY RH Removal

14. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH Removal

15. REMOVE MOTOR CABLE COVER RH Removal

16. REMOVE INVERTER COVER ASSEMBLY Removal

17. REMOVE CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY Removal

18. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE Removal

19. INSTALL CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY Components

20. REMOVE INVERTER TERMINAL COVER Removal

21. DISCONNECT MOTOR CABLE Removal

22. DISCONNECT GENERATOR CABLE Removal

23. DISCONNECT INLET INVERTER COOLING PIPE

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the inlet inverter cooling pipe.





24. DISCONNECT FRAME WIRE

(a) Remove the No. 1 relay block cover.

(b) Remove the 2 nuts from the No. 1 relay block.





(c) Detach the 2 claws to disconnect the frame wire from the No. 1 relay block.

25. DISCONNECT NO. 1 MOTOR COOLING PIPE Removal

26. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU Removal

27. DISCONNECT NO. 3 RELAY BLOCK Removal

28. DISCONNECT BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR Removal

29. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU BRACKET Removal

30. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE Removal

31. REMOVE ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY RH Removal

32. REMOVE NO. 5 COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

33. REMOVE ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal

34. REMOVE NO. 6 COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

35. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the 8 ignition coil connectors.

(b) Remove the 8 bolts.





(c) Using a screwdriver, pry at the cutouts to remove the 8 ignition coils together with the 8 spark plug tube gaskets.





NOTICE:
Do not damage the cylinder head cover when removing the spark plug tube gasket.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

36. REMOVE SPARK PLUG

(a) Using a 16 mm plug wrench, remove the 8 spark plugs.
