Removal and Replacement

Powertrain Control Module (PCM):






REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected or reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.

2. Remove LH instrument panel lower side panel.
3. Loosen main wiring to PCM connector retaining bolt.
4. Remove main wiring from PCM.
5. Remove PCM bracket support.
6. Remove PCM.
7. To install, reverse Removal procedure. Tighten main wiring retaining bolt to 3.7 Nm (33 lb in).
