Transmission Temperature Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

TRANSAXLE FLUID TEMPERATURE (TFT) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FS5A-EL]

WARNING:
- When the transaxle and ATF are hot, they can badly burn. Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool before replacing the ATF.

1. Clean the transaxle exterior throughout with a steam cleaner or cleaning solvents.

2. Remove the battery duct and battery cover. Removal and Replacement

3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

4. Remove the air cleaner component. Service and Repair

5. Remove the under cover.

6. Drain the ATF.

7. Remove the oil pan.

8. Remove the primary control valve body. Primary Control Valve Body Removal [FS5A-EL]

9. Remove the coupler component.






10. Install the coupler component.

11. Install the primary control valve body. Primary Control Valve Body Removal [FS5A-EL]

12. Install the oil pan. Primary Control Valve Body Removal [FS5A-EL]

13. Install the air cleaner component. Service and Repair

14. Install the under cover.

15. Connect the negative battery cable.

16. Install the battery cover. Removal and Replacement

17. Add ATF. Automatic Transaxle Fluid (ATF) Replacement [FS5A-EL]

18. Perform the mechanical system test. Mechanical System Test [FS5A-EL Transmission]

19. Perform the road test. Road Test [FS5A-EL Transmission]
