OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT [FS5A-EL]

CAUTION:
- The oil seal is easily damaged by the sharp edges of the drive shaft and joint shaft splines. Do not let the splines contact the oil seal.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the aerodynamic under cover NO.2. Aerodynamic Under Cover No. 2 Removal/Installation

3. Drain the ATF into a separate suitable container. Automatic Transaxle Fluid (ATF) Replacement

4. Disconnect the drive shaft (LH) from the transaxle. Drive Shaft Removal/Installation

5. Disconnect the drive shaft (RH) from the joint shaft. Drive Shaft Removal/Installation

6. Remove the joint shaft. Joint Shaft Removal/Installation

7. Remove the oil seals using a flat-head screwdriver.

8. Using the SSTs and a hammer, tap a new oil seals in evenly until the SSTs contacts the transaxle case.






9. Coat the lip of the oil seals with ATF.

10. Install the joint shaft. Joint Shaft Removal/Installation

11. Install the drive shaft (RH) to the joint shaft. Drive Shaft Removal/Installation

12. Install the drive shaft (LH) to the transaxle. Drive Shaft Removal/Installation

13. Install the aerodynamic under cover NO.2. Aerodynamic Under Cover No. 2 Removal/Installation

14. Add ATF. Automatic Transaxle Fluid (ATF) Replacement

15. Perform the "Mechanical System Test". Mechanical System Test
