P0841 TRANSMISSION FLUID PRESSURE SEN/SW A





Description
A malfunction of oil pressure sensor function is detected by mutual monitoring between secondary pressure sensor and line pressure.

DTC DETECTION LOGIC






DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1.PRECONDITIONING
Immediately after performing any "DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE", always turn ignition switch OFF.
Then wait at least 10 seconds before performing the next test.
- GO TO 2.
2.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
With CONSULT-III
1. Start the engine.
2. Select "Data Monitor" in "TRANSMISSION".
3. Select "VEHICLE SPEED".
4. Drive the vehicle.
5. Maintain the following conditions for 5 seconds or more.

VEHICLE SPEED : More than 30 km/h (19 MPH)

6. Stop the vehicle.
7. Select "Self Diagnostic Results" in "TRANSMISSION".
Is "P0841" detected?
YES - Go to P0841.
NO - INSPECTION END




Diagnosis Procedure
1.CHECK LINE PRESSURE
Perform line pressure test. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 2.
NO - Repair or replace damaged parts. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
2.CHECK SECONDARY PRESSURE SENSOR SYSTEM
Check secondary pressure sensor system. P0840.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 3.
NO - Repair or replace damaged parts.
3.CHECK SECONDARY PRESSURE SOLENOID VALVE
Check line pressure solenoid valve. P0841.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 4.
NO - Line pressure solenoid valve is malfunctioning. Replace transaxle assembly. Exploded View.
4.CHECK SECONDARY PRESSURE SOLENOID VALVE
Check secondary pressure solenoid valve. P0841.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 5.
NO - Secondary pressure solenoid valve is malfunctioning. Replace transaxle assembly. Exploded View.
5.CHECK STEP MOTOR SYSTEM
Check step motor system. P1777.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 6.
NO - Repair or replace damaged parts.
6. CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT
Intermittent Incident.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - Replace transaxle assembly. Exploded View.
NO - Repair or replace damaged parts.




Component Inspection (Line Pressure Solenoid Valve)
1.CHECK LINE PRESSURE SOLENOID VALVE
Check resistance between CVT unit harness connector terminal and ground.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES - INSPECTION END
NO - Line pressure solenoid valve is malfunctioning. Replace transaxle assembly. Exploded View.




Component Inspection (Secondary Pressure Solenoid Valve)
1.CHECK SECONDARY PRESSURE SOLENOID VALVE
Check resistance between CVT unit harness connector terminal and ground.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES - INSPECTION END
NO - Secondary pressure solenoid valve is malfunctioning. Replace transaxle assembly. Exploded View.
