Front Door: Service and Repair




Front Side Door Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the front inside door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Outside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the rearview mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement (Power Mirror Replacement).
5. Remove the inner sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement).
6. Remove the outer sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement).
7. Remove the door weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Weatherstrip Replacement (Front Side Door Weatherstrip Replacement).
8. Remove the door window weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement).
9. Remove the window guide. Refer to Door Window Guide Replacement (Door Window Guide Replacement).
10. Remove the door lock. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement (Front Side Door Lock Replacement).
11. Remove the door lock cylinder. Refer to Door Lock Cylinder Replacement (Service and Repair).
12. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Check Link Replacement (Service and Repair).
13. Remove the door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement (Service and Repair).
14. Remove the door window regulator and motor. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement).
15. Remove the front upper door speaker. Refer to Front Upper Speaker Replacement (Front Upper Speaker Replacement).
16. Remove the front lower door speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement (Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement).
17. Remove the left fender, if necessary. Refer to Front Fender Replacement - Left Side (Front Fender Replacement - Left Side).
18. Remove the right fender, if necessary. Refer to Front Fender Replacement - Right Side (Front Fender Replacement - Right Side).
19. Remove the door check link. Refer to Front Side Door Check Link Replacement (Service and Repair).




20. Release the door wiring harness grommet and unroute the wiring harness (3) from the door (6) and door jamb, if equipped.
21. Remove the front door wiring harness from the vehicle, if equipped.
22. Remove all the retainers from the front door (6).
23. Mark the door hinge (2, 4) location.
24. Remove the following components from the vehicle:

* The 4 door to hinge bolts (1, 5)
* The front door (6)

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Install the front door (6) to the vehicle. Align the matchmark on the hinges (2, 4) in order to aid in the correct adjustment of the door. Secure the door to the hinges (2, 4) with the 4 bolts (1, 5) and tighten to 26 Nm (19 lb ft).
2. Install all the plastic retainers to the door (6).
3. Route the door wiring harness (3) and seat the grommet into position in the door (6).
4. Install the door check link. Refer to Front Side Door Check Link Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Install the left fender, if removed. Refer to Front Fender Replacement - Left Side (Front Fender Replacement - Left Side).
6. Install the right fender, if removed. Refer to Front Fender Replacement - Right Side (Front Fender Replacement - Right Side).
7. Install the door window regulator and motor. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement).
8. Install the front lower door speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement (Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement).
9. Install the front upper door speaker. Refer to Front Upper Speaker Replacement (Front Upper Speaker Replacement).
10. Install the door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement (Service and Repair).
11. Install the outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Check Link Replacement (Service and Repair).
12. Install the door lock cylinder. Refer to Door Lock Cylinder Replacement (Service and Repair).
13. Install the door lock. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement (Front Side Door Lock Replacement).
14. Install the door window weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Weatherstrip Replacement).
15. Install the door weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Weatherstrip Replacement (Front Side Door Weatherstrip Replacement).
16. Install the outer sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement).
17. Install the inner sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement).
18. Install the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement (Power Mirror Replacement).
19. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
20. Install the inside door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Outside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair).
21. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
