Cable Tension Adjustment - Sliding Door (Regular Method)
Cable Tension Adjustment - Sliding Door (Regular Method)
Important: By removing the power sliding door (PSD) 15A fuse, the low current logic power for both the LH and RH power sliding door modules (PSDM) will be interrupted and both PSDs will be inoperative.
1. If equipped with a power sliding door, disable the PSD system by removing the PSD 15A fuse from the instrument panel (I/P) fuse block.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer toBattery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
3. Remove the right rear quarter lower trim panel. Refer toTrim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Right (Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Right) in Interior Trim.
4. Position the center roller bracket at the front of the track. Ensure that the bracket is 25 mm (1 in) from the forward radius and that the cable tension slot is accessible in the window located on the power sliding door (PSD) motor clutch assembly.
Important: Use only a 6-point 14 mm socket on the adjusting nut. The adjusting nut requires very little torque to achieve proper cable tension. DO NOT exceed 20 Nm of torque on the adjuster nut. Use of additional torque beyond 20 Nm may damage the adjuster nut. If the adjuster nut rounds, refer toCable Tension Adjustment - Sliding Door (Regular Method) Cable Tension Adjustment - Sliding Door (Alternate Method) (Cable Tension Adjustment - Sliding Door (Alternate Method))Cable Tension Adjustment - Sliding Door (With RPO E59 LH) (Cable Tension Adjustment - Sliding Door (With RPO E59 LH)) .
5. Insert a 9 mm (3/8 in) drill bit into the tension slot on the actuator motor.
6. Turn the 14 mm cable adjuster nut (1) counterclockwise until the tensioner pins are located between both the front and rear double blocks. The blocks are marked on the PSD module housing. This action adjust the cable tension. If the adjuster nut rounds, refer toCable Tension Adjustment - Sliding Door (Regular Method) Cable Tension Adjustment - Sliding Door (Alternate Method) (Cable Tension Adjustment - Sliding Door (Alternate Method))Cable Tension Adjustment - Sliding Door (With RPO E59 LH) (Cable Tension Adjustment - Sliding Door (With RPO E59 LH)) .
7. Remove the 9 mm (3/8 in) drill bit from the cable tension slot.
8. Operate the sliding door manually.
9. Verify that the tension is correct.
10. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer toBattery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
11. Place the jack in the storage compartment.
12. Close the storage compartment door.
13. Install the right rear quarter lower trim panel. Refer toTrim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Right (Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Right) in Interior Trim.
Important: By installing the 15A fuse, the low current logic power will be restored to both the LH and RH PSDMs and the PSDs will be operational. However, both PSDMs will have to learn the full open and full closed positions of the PSD. Refer toAcutator Control Module - Power Sliding Door (PSD) Programming and Setup .
14. If equipped with a power sliding door, enable the PSD system by installing the PSD 15A fuse into the I/P fuse block.
