Cable Guide Bracket Replacement - Sliding Door
Cable Guide Bracket Replacement - Sliding Door
Removal Procedure
Important: By removing the power sliding door (PSD) 15A fuse, the low current logic power for both the LH and RH power sliding door modules (PSDM) will be interrupted and both PSDs will be inoperative.
1. If equipped with a power sliding door, disable the PSD system by removing the PSD 15A fuse from the instrument panel (I/P) fuse block.
2. Remove the right rear quarter lower trim panel. Refer toTrim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Right (Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Right) in Interior Trim.
3. Release the cable tension:
1. Push the tensioning nut inward.
2. Pull the rear cable until the cable is slack.
4. Visually confirm that the cables are slack by observing that the center white dots are below the white indicator bands.
5. Remove the right rear tail lamp assembly. Refer toTail Lamp Assembly and /or Backup, Sidemarker, Stop, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.
6. Remove the cable guide bracket screws.
7. Remove the cable guide bracket from the vehicle.
8. Slide the guide bracket pulley cover off of the pulley and lift the rear cable off of the guide bracket pulley.
Installation Procedure
1. Slide the guide bracket pulley cover off of the pulley and lift the rear cable off of the guide bracket pulley.
2. Install the cable guide bracket to the vehicle.
Notice: Refer toFastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
3. Install the cable guide bracket screws in the correct fastener tightening sequence as shown.
Tighten the screws to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
4. Install the right rear tail lamp. Refer toTail Lamp Assembly and /or Backup, Sidemarker, Stop, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.
5. Position the center roller bracket at the front of the track, 25 mm (1 in) away from the forward radius of the center track to where the cable tension slot is accessible in the window.
6. Insert a 97 mm (3/8 in) drill bit into the tension slot on the actuator motor.
7. Adjust the cable tension by turning the cable adjuster nut counterclockwise until the tensioner pins are located between both the front and rear double blocks. The blocks are marked on the power sliding door (PSD) module housing.
8. Remove the 97 mm (3/8 in) drill bit from the cable tension slot.
9. Install the right rear quarter lower trim panel. Refer toTrim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Right (Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Right) in Interior Trim.
Important: By installing the 15A fuse, the low current logic power will be restored to both the LH and RH PSDMs and the PSDs will be operational. However, both PSDMs will have to learn the full open and full closed positions of the PSD. Refer toAcutator Control Module - Power Sliding Door (PSD) Programming and Setup .
10. If equipped with a power sliding door, enable the PSD system by installing the PSD 15A fuse into the I/P fuse block.
