Door Lock and Unlock Switch Circuit Check [King Cab]

Description

Transmits door lock/unlock operation to BCM.

Component Function Check

1. CHECK FUNCTION

With SDT

Check CDL LOCK SW, CDL UNLOCK SW in data list mode with SDT.






Is the inspection result normal?
YES
Door lock and unlock switch is OK.
NO
Refer to "Diagnosis Procedure".

Diagnosis Procedure

Regarding Wiring Diagram information, refer to [Power Door Lock System: Wiring Diagram [King Cab] Power Door Lock System [King Cab] ].

1. CHECK DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL

With SDT

Check door lock/unlock switch ("CDL LOCK SW", "CDL UNLOCK SW") in data list mode in SDT. Refer to [SDT Function (BCM - MULTI REMOTE ENT)] SDT Function (BCM - Multi Remote ENT).
- When door lock/unlock switch is turned to LOCK:






- When door lock/unlock switch is turned to UNLOCK:






Without SDT
1 Remove key from ignition key cylinder.
2 Check the signal between BCM connector M18 terminal 22 and ground with oscilloscope when door lock/unlock switch is turned to LOCK or UNLOCK.
3 Make sure the signals which are shown in the figure below can be detected during 10 seconds just after the door lock/unlock switch is turned to LOCK or UNLOCK.










Is the inspection result normal?
YES
Door lock and unlock switch circuit is OK.
NO
GO TO 2

2. CHECK BCM OUTPUT SIGNAL

Perform "POWER REMOTO DOWN SET") in "Active test" mode for "MULTIREMOTE ENT" with SDT. Refer to [SDT Function (BCM - MULTI REMOTE ENT)] SDT Function (BCM - Multi Remote ENT).






Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO 3
NO
Replace BCM. Refer to [BCM: Removal and Installation] Removal and Replacement.

3. CHECK DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK SWITCH GROUND HARNESS

1 Turn ignition switch OFF.
2 Disconnect main power window and door lock/unlock switch or power window and door lock/unlock switch RH.
3 Check continuity between main power window and door lock/unlock switch connector D7 terminal 15 and ground.











4 Check continuity between power window and door lock/unlock switch RH connector D105 terminal 11 and ground.











Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO 4
NO
Repair or replace harness.

4. CHECK POWER WINDOW SERIAL LINK CIRCUIT

1 Disconnect BCM.
2 Check continuity between BCM connector M18 terminal 22 and main power window and door lock/unlock switch connector D7 terminal 12.










3 Check continuity between BCM connector M18 terminal 22 and power window and door lock/unlock switch RH connector D105 terminal 16.











4 Check continuity between BCM connector M18 terminal 22 and ground.











Is the inspection result normal?
YES
Replace main power window and door lock/unlock switch or power window and door lock/unlock switch RH.
NO
Repair or replace harness.
