DTC Will be Set when

The voltage measured at driver air bag (2nd stage) initiator circuit is below a specified value for specified time.

Flow Test Description

Step 2: Check whether malfunction is in contact coil and driver air bag (inflator) module (2nd stage) or the others.

Step 3: Check driver air bag (inflator) module (2nd stage) initiator circuit.

Step 4: Check whether malfunction is in contact coil or driver air bag (inflator) module (2nd stage).

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag.

2. With ignition switch OFF, disconnect contact coil connector located under of the steering column.
Check proper connection to contact coil at terminal in "G27" connector.
If OK, then connect special tools (B) and (C) to "G27" connector disconnected in Step 1).
Special Tool

Are resistances infinity?
YES -
Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.
NO -
"BRN/RED" circuit or "BRN/BLK" circuit shorted to ground.

4. With ignition switch OFF, disconnect special tools (B) and (C) from "G27" connector and reconnect contact coil connector located under of the steering column.
Remove driver air bag (inflator) module from steering column referring to Removal and Installation Driver Air Bag (Inflator) Module Removal and Installation:Advanced Air Bag.
Check proper connection to driver air bag (inflator) module connector (connector color is black).
If OK, then connect special tools (A), (B) and (D) to driver air bag (inflator) module connector (connector color is black).
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010
