DTC B1373: Driver Seat Position Sensor Circuit Shorted to Ground

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow:Advanced Air Bag.

2. Seat position sensor circuit check

With ignition switch turned OFF, disconnect seat position sensor connector "L39".
Disconnect SDM connector "L04".
Check for proper connection to SDM connector at terminals "L04-38".
Check for proper connection to seat position sensor connector at terminal in connector "L39".
Measure resistance between "L39-2" terminal and body ground.
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010





Is each measured resistance infinity?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Repair short to ground in defective wire.

3. Seat position sensor circuit check

Measure resistance between "L39-1" and "L39-2" terminals.
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010





Is each measured resistance infinity?
YES -
Replace defective seat position sensor, and recheck.
If this DTC is still detected, replace SDM.
NO -
Repair short to other wire in defective wire.

NOTE:

Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.

- Reconnect all air bag system components and ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs referring to DTC Clearance DTC Clearance:Advanced Air Bag
if any.

- Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag
, to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
