DTC Confirmation Procedure
WARNING:
If you do not select a suitable route and take proper precautions when performing a road test, an accident can occur.
- Select a level road with no traffic to minimize the risk of accident.
- Perform the test extremely carefully.
- Perform the road test using 2 persons, a driver and an assistant.
1) With ignition switch turned OFF, connect scan tool to DLC.
2) Turn ON ignition switch and clear DTC.
3) Start engine and warm up to normal operating temperature.
4) Press cruise MAIN (ON/OFF) switch once.
5) Drive vehicle at 40 km/h (25 mph) or higher for 3 min. or more.
6) Stop vehicle.
7) Check DTC.
DTC Troubleshooting
NOTE:
Before this troubleshooting, read and observe Precautions for DTC Troubleshooting Precautions for DTC Troubleshooting.
1. Cruise control switch check
Check cruise control switch referring to Cruise Control Switch Inspection Cruise Control Switch Inspection.
Is it in good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Replace cruise control switch.
2. Cruise control MAIN (ON/OFF) switch and command switch circuit check
Disconnect connectors from ECM with ignition switch turned OFF.
Check for proper connection of cruise control switch circuit terminal to ECM connector.
If connections are OK, check the following for cruise MAIN (ON/OFF) switch and command switch circuit.
- Voltage of between "RED/WHT" wire terminal of cruise control switch connector and vehicle body ground is 0 V with ignition switch tuned ON (power short check)
- Resistance between "LT GRN" wire terminal of cruise control switch connector and vehicle body ground is infinity (ground short check)
Is it in good condition?
YES -
Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck.
NO -
Repair or replace wire circuit.
