DESCRIPTION

When the power back door warning system does not operate, one of the following may be malfunctioning: 1) power back door warning buzzer circuit, 2) wireless door lock control system, or 3) back door motor unit (power back door ECU).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK OPERATION

(a) Check the power back door system operation.

Result:





C -- REPLACE BACK DOOR MOTOR UNIT (POWER BACK DOOR ECU) Removal

B -- CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (HAZARD ANSWER - BACK FUNCTION)
A -- Continue to next step.

2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST ON TECHSTREAM

(a) Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and check that the power back door buzzer sounds.

Back door (Power back door ECU)





OK:

Buzzer sounds normally.

NG -- INSPECT POWER BACK DOOR WARNING BUZZER

OK -- REPLACE BACK DOOR MOTOR UNIT (POWER BACK DOOR ECU) Removal

3. INSPECT POWER BACK DOOR WARNING BUZZER

(a) Remove the power back door warning buzzer. Removal





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE POWER BACK DOOR WARNING BUZZER Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER BACK DOOR WARNING BUZZER - POWER BACK DOOR ECU)

(a) Disconnect the T9 buzzer connector.





(b) Disconnect the O15 ECU connector.

(c) Disconnect the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE BACK DOOR MOTOR UNIT (POWER BACK DOOR ECU) Removal

5. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (HAZARD ANSWER - BACK FUNCTION)

(a) Check the wireless door lock operation.

Result:





OK:

Hazard answer-back function operates normally.

C -- GO TO OTHER FLOW CHART No Answer-Back

B -- GO TO OTHER FLOW CHART No Answer-Back
A -- Continue to next step.

6. REPLACE BACK DOOR MOTOR UNIT (POWER BACK DOOR ECU)

(a) Replace the back door motor unit (power back door ECU) Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK BACK DOOR MOTOR UNIT (POWER BACK DOOR ECU)

(a) Check that the power back door warning buzzer operates normally.

OK:

It operates normally.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)

OK -- END (REPLACE BACK DOOR MOTOR UNIT (POWER BACK DOOR ECU) DEFECTIVE)
