MF1A TRANSFER / 4WD / AWD: TRANSFER ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE

Removal

2. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY Removal

3. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY Removal

4. DISCONNECT BREATHER PLUG HOSE Removal

5. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE Removal

6. REMOVE TRANSFER STIFFENER PLATE RH

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and transfer stiffener plate RH.





7. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY Removal

8. REMOVE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE TRANSFER ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 8 nuts.





(b) Using a plastic hammer, remove the transfer from the automatic transaxle.

NOTICE:
* Remove the transfer from the automatic transaxle without tilting it.
* During removal, do not hold the transfer by the oil seals on either side of the assembly.

(c) Remove the 4 transfer and transaxle setting stud bolts.
