1AR-FE ENGINE MECHANICAL: ENGINE UNIT: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY Installation

2. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY Installation

3. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

4. INSTALL ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR Installation

5. INSTALL ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY Installation

6. INSTALL KNOCK SENSOR Installation

7. INSTALL SENSOR WIRE

(a) Install the sensor wire with the bolt.

Torque : 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)

(b) Connect the knock sensor connector.

8. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD





(a) Close the tumble control valves Intake System.

NOTICE:
The valves may be damaged if they are not closed before installing the intake manifold.

(b) Install a new gasket to the intake manifold.

(c) Temporarily tighten the 6 bolts to the intake manifold.





(d) Fully tighten the 6 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

Torque : 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)

(e) Connect the intake air control actuator connector and engage the 6 harness clamps.

(f) Connect the No. 2 ventilation hose with the hose clip.

NOTICE:
Install the clip so that its claws are within the clip installation range.

(g) Engage the hose clamp and connect the No. 2 ventilation hose.

(h) Engage the hose clamp and connect the fuel tube.

(i) Connect the 2 water by-pass hoses.





NOTICE:
Install the clip so that its claws are within the clip installation range.

(1) Connect the water by-pass hose with the hose clip.

(2) Connect the No. 2 water by-pass hose with the hose clip.

9. INSTALL UNION TO CONNECTOR TUBE HOSE

(a) Install the union to connector tube hose with the hose clip.

10. CONNECT VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE HOSE ASSEMBLY





(a) Connect the vacuum switching valve hose with the hose clip.

NOTICE:
Install the clip so that its claws are within the clip installation range.

(b) Engage the 2 hose clamps and connect the vacuum switching valve hose.

11. INSTALL NO. 2 FUEL VAPOR FEED HOSE ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose with the hose clip.

NOTICE:
Install the clip so that its claws are within the clip installation range.

(b) Connect the vacuum hose.

12. INSTALL NO. 1 COMPRESSOR MOUNTING BRACKET

(a) Install the bracket with the 4 bolts.

Torque : 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)

13. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD TO HEAD GASKET Installation

14. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD Installation

15. INSTALL NO. 2 MANIFOLD STAY Installation

16. INSTALL MANIFOLD STAY Installation

17. INSTALL ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE

(a) Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring.

(b) Install the O-ring to the engine oil level dipstick guide.

(c) Install the engine oil level dipstick guide with the bolt.

Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

(d) Install the engine oil level dipstick.
