Readiness Code Generating (VW Drive Cycle)




Special tools, workshop equipment, testers, measuring instruments and auxiliary items required
- VAG 1551/1552 Scan Tool using VAG 1551/3 adaptor cable


NOTES:
- During test sequence, engine must NOT be switched OFF
- if the test sequence procedure is interrupted, or not adhered to, the readiness code will NOT be created.
- For this step, rev engine while stationary then apply hand brake and place manual transmission in Neutral or in in Transmission Range "N" for automatic transmissions.


Conditions

- No malfunctions stored in DTC memory. Checking DTC Memory (Function 02)
- Engine Coolant Temperature 25 °C minimum


Work Sequence

Step: 1
- Start engine and let idle

Step: 2
- Perform a road test.
- Apply Wide Open Throttle upon reaching 2100 rpm (tachometer display).

Step: 3
- Let engine idle then accelerate from a stop to an engine speed of 2200 rpm minimum (tachometer display).
- After reaching this rpm let engine speed drop to idle.

Step: 4
- Switch OFF engine and wait at least 10 seconds
- Repeat test steps 1 to 3 again.
- Display Readiness code.

If Readiness code still not OK

- Check if there is a malfunction stored in DTC memory and eliminate as necessary.
- Perform test steps one more time
- Check DTC memory
