Engine Timing Module Component Overview





1 Sleeve

• For linkage mounting components.

• Replace with compensation linkage in case of noticeable formation of deposits.

2 Compensation linkage

3 Camshaft sprocket

• With cylinder bank 1: with camshaft position sensor wheel.

• Removing and installing, refer to --> [ Camshaft Compensation Wheel and Input Gear ] Service and Repair.

4 Compensation wheel

• Removing and installing, refer to --> [ Camshaft Compensation Wheel and Input Gear ] Service and Repair.

5 150 Nm + 1/4 turn (90 °)

6 Full-floating axle

7 Compensating piston

• Replace.

8 20 Nm

• Observe tightening sequence, refer to --> [ Tightening Sequence of Bolts for Control Housing ] Service and Repair

9 Seal

• Do not additionally oil or grease sealing lip of oil seal.

• Before installing, remove oil remains from crankshaft journal with a clean cloth.

• Replacing, refer to --> [ Crankshaft Seal, Engine Timing Side ] Service and Repair.

10 Control housing

• Assembly overview, refer to --> [ Control Housing Assembly Overview ] Service and Repair.

11 Cylinder bolt

• First tighten to 60 Nm, then to 150 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°).

12 Oil pan, upper

• Assembly overview, refer to --> [ Upper Oil Pan Assembly Overview ] Upper Oil Pan Assembly Overview.

13 Bolt

• First tighten to 60 Nm, then to 150 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°).
