Cooling System Components Assembly Overview, Body Side





1 Radiator

Removing and installing => [ Radiator ] Service and Repair.

After replacing replace entire amount of coolant

2 O-ring

Replace

3 Upper coolant hose

Secured to radiator with a retaining clip

Coolant hose connection diagram => [ Coolant Hose Connection Diagram ] [1][2]Diagrams.

4 Connector

5 Cap

Check using cooling system tester (V.A.G 1274 ) and adapter (V.A.G 1274/9)

Pressure release valve must open at a pressure of 1.4 to 1.6 bar.

6 2.5 Nm

7 Expansion tank

Perform leak test of cooling system with cooling system tester (V.A.G 1274) and adapter (V.A.G 1274/8)

Test pressure 1.4 to 1.6 bar

Note the markings => [ Cooling System, Draining and Filling ] Cooling System, Draining and Filling.

8 To coolant pipe

Coolant hose connection diagram => [ Coolant Hose Connection Diagram ] [1][2]Diagrams.

9 Air shroud

10 5 Nm

11 Auxiliary fan

Only vehicles with optional equipment

12 Fan ring

For the auxiliary fan

13 Fan ring

14 Radiator fan

15 Bracket

For fan connector

16 Lower coolant hose

Secured to radiator with a retaining clip

Coolant hose connection diagram => [ Coolant Hose Connection Diagram ] [1][2]Diagrams.

17 O-ring

Replace

18 Coolant Fan Control (FC) thermal switch (F18 ), 35 Nm

for electric fan

Switch temperatures:

1. Speed on: 92 to 97° C 1st speed off: 84 to 91° C 2nd speed on: 99 to 105° C 2nd speed off: 91 to 98° C

19 Bracket

For bottom of radiator

Note installation position
