Fastener Tightening Specifications





• 1 Always replace

• 2 Install with locking fluid

Cylinder Head Cover Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification





- Tighten the cylinder head cover bolts in the sequence shown and in stages to 10 Nm

Cylinder Head Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification





- Tighten the cylinder head bolts in the sequence shown as follows:

• Tighten the bolts a first pass to 40 Nm

• Tighten the bolts a second pass an additional 90° (1/4) turn

• Tighten the bolts a final pass an additional 90° (1/4) turn

Guide Frame Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification





- Gently tighten the bolts working from the inside toward the outside in several stages.

- Then tighten the bolts in the designated sequence to 8 Nm + an additional 90° (1/4) turn.








Intake Manifold

Mounting bolts for intake manifold 10 Nm
Bolt for intake manifold support 23 Nm
Nut for intake manifold support 10 Nm






Exhaust System Overview





1 Nut

• 40 Nm

• Replace

• Lubricate the stud bolts on the exhaust manifold with hot bolt paste.

2 Front Exhaust Pipe with Catalytic Converter

• Protect from shocks and impact stress.

• With the flex joint.

• Flex joint must not be bent more than 10° - otherwise it may be damaged.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Front Exhaust Pipe with Catalytic Converter ] Service and Repair.

• Install the exhaust system free of stress. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing.

3 Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (G130)

• 55 Nm

• Bank 1, sensor 2.

• Only use hot bolt paste to grease the threads; do not let the paste get onto the slits of the oxygen sensor body.

4 Retaining Loop

• Replace if damaged.

5 Nut

• 25 Nm

6 Rear Muffler

• Original equipment as one unit with the center muffler. For repairs, replace each separately.

• Install the exhaust system free of stress. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing.

• Separating the exhaust system. Refer to => [ Center and Rear Mufflers, Separating ] Service and Repair.

7 Suspended Mount

• Replace if damaged.

8 Bolt

• 25 Nm

9 Rear Clamping Sleeve

• For individual replacement of the center and rear mufflers/

• Installed position, refer to => [ Rear Clamping Sleeve
Installed Position ] Clamping Sleeves.

• Tighten the bolts evenly.

10 Center Muffler

• Original equipment as one unit with the rear muffler. For repairs, replace each separately.

• Install the exhaust system free of stress. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing.

• Separating the exhaust system. Refer to => [ Center and Rear Mufflers, Separating ] Service and Repair.

11 Bolt

• 25 Nm

12 Front Clamping Sleeve

• Before tightening, ensure the exhaust system is free of tension. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing.

• Installed position, refer to => [ Front Clamping Sleeve
Installed Position ] Clamping Sleeves.

• Tighten the bolts evenly.

13 Nut

• 25 Nm

14 Suspended Mount

16 Gasket

• Replace

17 Oxygen Sensor ( O2S) (G39)

• 55 Nm

• Bank 1, sensor 1.

• Only use hot bolt paste to grease the threads; do not let the paste get onto the slits of the oxygen sensor body.
