Selector Mechanism Overview, through 02.09
Move the selector lever into the "P" position and set the parking brake before working with the engine running.
1 Selector Handle with Cover
• Do not remove the handle unnecessarily. For emergency release, only the cover must be unclipped. Refer to => [ Selector Lever, Manual Release ] Procedures.
• Pull the button past its pressure point before removing the handle. Secure the button with a cable tie or some suitable wire. This prevents the button from being pushed back into the handle accidentally.
2 Selector Mechanism
• With the shift lock solenoid (N110).
• Emergency release, refer to => [ Selector Lever, Manual Release ] Procedures.
• Removing and installing:
- Remove the center bracket.
- Remove the cable from transmission. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, through 02.09 ] Service and Repair.
- If necessary: disconnect or remove the exhaust system components.
- Remove the heat shield under the selector mechanism.
- Adjust the selector lever cable after installing. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting ] Adjustments.
3 Spring with Bolt
• 3 Nm
4 Pin
• Removing, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, through 02.09 ] Service and Repair.
• Do not lubricate
5 Retaining Plate
• Always replace after removing.
6 Nut
• 9 Nm
• Quantity: 4
7 Selector Housing
• With seal.
8 Adjusting Bolt
• 13 Nm
9 Lock Washer
• Always replace after removing.
10 Lock Washer
• Always replace after removing.
11 Selector Lever Cable
• The cable is not lubricated.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, through 02.09 ] Service and Repair.
• Checking, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Checking ] Selector Lever Cable, Checking.
• Adjusting, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting ] Adjustments.
