Lock Carrier with Attachments

Removing

NOTE:
- The lock carrier is a safety-relevant component, for this reason it may not be serviced.
- If damaged, replace the lock carrier.







- Bring the lock carrier and its attachments into the service position -1-. Setting Lock Carrier Service Position
- Disconnect the electrical harness connectors present.
- When disconnecting Driver Front Airbag Crash Sensor (G283) electrical connector, proceed as described under Driver Front Airbag Crash Sensor (G283), Removing and Installing. Drivers Front Airbag Crash Sensor G283
- Drain the coolant and disconnect coolant line. Service and Repair
- Disconnect condenser lines. Service and Repair
- Be sure to perform the work procedures if the vehicle has adaptive cruise control (ACC). Removal and Replacement
- With a second technician, remove (T 10093) on longitudinal member on left and right sides and lift out lock carrier.

CAUTION!
Do not start the engine when the A/C system or coolant lines are disconnected.

- Do not hang the condenser and hydraulic oil cooler by the lines.
- Do not kink the condenser and hydraulic lines.

Installing
- To install, perform the steps used for removal in reverse order.
- Make sure that all plug-and hose connections are corrected installed when re-assembling.
- Align the lock carrier with the longitudinal members and between the fenders.
