Suction Jet Pump

Suction Jet Pump

On vehicles with all wheel drive the shape of the fuel tank dictates that a suction jet pump unit is required to pump fuel to the fuel delivery unit from the area of the fuel level sensor 2.

A test must only be performed, if the engine stops running due to lack of gas, even though the fuel gauge indicates the fuel tank is 1/4 full.

Procedure

- Remove the fuel delivery unit. Refer to => [ Fuel Delivery Unit ] Fuel Delivery Unit.

- Remove the fuel level sensor 2. Refer to => [ Fuel Level Sensor 2 ] Fuel Level Sensor 2.

- Now the suction jet pump can be pulled out on the side of the fuel level sensor 2 (left side of vehicle).

- Check that the fuel hoses/lines on the suction jet pump are installed securely and are not damaged.

- Additionally check the suction jet pump for contamination if necessary.
