Fuel Level Sensor 2
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Wrench (T10202)
• Torque wrench (40-200 Nm) (VAG 1332)
Removing
• Fuel tank may be a maximum of 3/4 full.
• Empty the fuel tank if necessary using the (VAS 5190). Refer to => [ Fuel Tank, Draining ] Procedures.
• Read the safety precautions before beginning work. Refer to => [ Safety Precautions ] Fuel Supply.
• Observe the rules for cleanliness. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.
- Remove the rear seat bench.
- Remove the left cover (when viewed from direction of vehicle travel) from the fuel level sensor 2.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the locking ring using the (T10202).
- Remove the fuel level sensor 2 up slightly and unclip the suction jet pump.
CAUTION!
Do not bend the fuel level sensor 2 float arm when removing.
Installing
CAUTION!
Do not bend the fuel level sensor 2 float arm when installing.
- Install the fuel level sensor 2 in the fuel tank.
- Connect the suction jet pump to the sensor inside of the fuel tank. The catches must engage.
- Install a new, dry seal into the fuel tank opening and only lubricate the inner side with fuel.
- Note the fuel level sensor 2 installed position. Refer to => [ Fuel Level Sensor 2 Installed Position ] Fuel Tank Assembly Overview.
- Check the seal for correct positioning.
- Tighten locking ring with the (T10202). Tightening specification: 110 Nm.
- Connect the electrical connector.
- Install the cover.
- Install the rear seat bench.
