Fuel Tank and Attachments Overview






1 Fuel Filler Tube

2 Metering Line

• Not available on US/Canadian vehicles.

3 Fuel Tank

• Connection diagram of fuel lines and components in the fuel tank. Refer to => [ Connection Diagram, Fuel Lines and Components in Fuel Tank ] [1][2]Diagrams.

• Draining, refer to => [ Fuel Tank, Draining ] Procedures.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fuel Tank ] Removal and Replacement.

4 Flange

• Left side

• Note the install position on the fuel tank, refer to => [ Installed Position of the Fuel Delivery
Unit Flange ].

5 Locking Ring

• 145 Nm

• Use the wrench (T10202) for removing and installing.

• Make sure it is tight.

6 Fuel Delivery Unit

• Left side

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fuel Delivery Unit, Fuel Level Sensor and Suction Jet Pump ] Fuel Delivery Unit, Fuel Level Sensor and Suction Jet Pump.

• Checking the fuel pumps, refer to => [ Fuel Pumps, Checking ] Fuel Pumps, Checking.

7 Fuel Level Sensor 3 (G237)

• Left side, flat/rectangular float.

• Clipped into the bottom of the tank.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fuel Delivery Unit, Fuel Level Sensor and Suction Jet Pump ] Fuel Delivery Unit, Fuel Level Sensor and Suction Jet Pump.

• Checking.

8 Suction Jet Pump

• Left side

• At the fuel delivery unit.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fuel Delivery Unit, Fuel Level Sensor and Suction Jet Pump ] Fuel Delivery Unit, Fuel Level Sensor and Suction Jet Pump.

9 Protective Cover

• For the bottom of the fuel tank.

10 Securing Strap

• Note the installed position.

• Make sure it is tight.

11 Bolt

• 20 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn.

12 Protective Cover

• For the top of the fuel tank.

13 Suction Jet Pump

• Left side

• Clipped into the bottom of the tank.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fuel Delivery Unit, Fuel Level Sensor and Suction Jet Pump ] Fuel Delivery Unit, Fuel Level Sensor and Suction Jet Pump.

14 Metering Line

• Not available on US/Canadian vehicles.

15 Suction Jet Pump

• Right side

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fuel Delivery Unit, Fuel Level Sensor and Suction Jet Pump ] Fuel Delivery Unit, Fuel Level Sensor and Suction Jet Pump.

16 Fuel Delivery Unit

• Right side

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fuel Delivery Unit, Fuel Level Sensor and Suction Jet Pump ] Fuel Delivery Unit, Fuel Level Sensor and Suction Jet Pump.

• Checking the fuel pumps, refer to => [ Fuel Pumps, Checking ] Fuel Pumps, Checking.

17 Fuel Level Sensor (G)

• Right side, round/spherical float.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fuel Delivery Unit, Fuel Level Sensor and Suction Jet Pump ] Fuel Delivery Unit, Fuel Level Sensor and Suction Jet Pump.

• Checking.

18 Flange

• Right side

• Note the installed position on the fuel tank. Refer to => [ Installed Position of the Fuel Delivery
Unit Flange ].

19 Bracket

• Not available on US/Canadian vehicles.
