B1D7A - Seat Recliner Position Sensor Circuit High

• When Monitored: When the seat motor is activated.

• Set Condition: If during motor operation the sensor voltage is not within a specified range this code will set.






Test Step 1 - Test For Intermittent Condition

• Turn the ignition ON.

• With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.

• Move the driver seat switch rear recliner position three times.

• With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display B1D7A - Seat Recliner Position Sensor Circuit High?

Yes

• Go to Test Step 2 => [ Test Step 2 - Driver Recliner Seat Adjuster Motor ]

No

• The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.

• Perform Power Seat System Verification Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. Power Seat System Verification Test

Test Step 2 - Driver Recliner Seat Adjuster Motor

• Turn the ignition OFF.

• Disconnect the driver recliner seat adjuster motor harness connector.

• Turn the ignition ON.

• With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.

• Move the driver seat switch in both the recliner positions three times.

• With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display B1D7A - Seat Recliner Position Sensor Circuit High?

Yes

• Go to Test Step 3 => [ Test Step 3 - Check the Driver Seat Recliner Position Sense Circuit
for a Short to Voltage ]

No

• Replace the rear driver recliner seat adjuster motor assembly.

• Perform Power Seat System Verification Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. Power Seat System Verification Test

Test Step 3 - Check the Driver Seat Recliner Position Sense Circuit for a Short to Voltage

• Turn the ignition OFF.

• Disconnect the memory seat module C2 harness connector.

• Turn the ignition ON.

• Measure the driver seat recliner position sense circuit for voltage at the driver recliner seat adjuster motor harness connector.

Is there any voltage present?

Yes

• Repair the driver seat recliner position sense circuit for a short to voltage.

• Perform Power Seat System Verification Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. Power Seat System Verification Test

No

• Go to Test Step 4 => [ Test Step 4 - Check the Driver Seat Recliner Position Sense Circuit
for a Short to Another Circuit ]

Test Step 4 - Check the Driver Seat Recliner Position Sense Circuit for a Short to Another Circuit

• Turn the ignition OFF.

• Measure the resistance of the driver seat recliner position sense circuit to other circuits in the memory seat module C2 connector.

Is there any continuity present to other circuits?

Yes

• Repair the driver seat recliner position sense circuit for a short to another circuit.

• Perform Power Seat System Verification Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. Power Seat System Verification Test

No

• Replace the memory seat module.

• Perform Power Seat System Verification Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. Power Seat System Verification Test
