Removing
• If the door glass will not move in the door, remove the regulator motor and manually position the window regulator and glass to the 3/4 up position.
- With the door glass in the 3/4 up position, remove the front door trim panel.
- Remove the round close out plug (1) from the carrier plate (2).

- Remove the door speaker from the door.
- Working through the close out plug and speaker holes in the carrier plate, carefully disengage the front door glass (1) from the two plastic clips (2) located on the window regulator (3).
Use care when removing the door glass to prevent breakage. Do not force the glass out of the door. Failure to follow this warning may result in serious injury.
- Remove the front door glass (1) from the window opening. Tip the front of the glass downward to disengage the glass from the glass run and then lift the glass out of the opening.
- Working through the access hole in the carrier plate (1), remove the door lock cylinder shield (2) from inside the door, if equipped.
- Working through the access hole in the carrier plate (4), disengage the clips that secure the two linkage rods (1 and 3) to the exterior door handle (2) and disconnect the rods from the handle.

- Disengage the door wire harness grommet (2) from the cowl side panel and disconnect the two body wire harness connectors from the door harness.
- Remove the two screws (3) that secure the wire harness door bracket (4) to the door (1).
- Disengage the door seal as required from the door and route the door wire harness out from beneath the seal.
- Remove the three screws (1) that secure the door latch (6) to the rear of the door (7).
- Remove the bolts (4) that secure the carrier plate (3) to the door.
- Pull the carrier plate away from the door to disengage the tabs that secure the plate to the door and remove the carrier plate, door latch and linkage as an assembly from the door. Rotate and tilt the carrier plate as necessary to gain clearance for removal.
- If required, remove the door latch from the carrier plate. Refer to => [ Door Latch ] Door Latch.
- If required, remove the window regulator motor (5) and/or regulator (2) from the carrier plate. Refer to => [ Front Door Window Regulator ] Service and Repair.
Installing
- If removed, install the door latch (6) onto the carrier plate (3). Refer to => [ Door Latch ] Door Latch.
- If removed, install the window regulator motor (5) and/or regulator (2) onto the carrier plate. Refer to => [ Front Door Window Regulator ] Service and Repair.
- Position the carrier plate, door latch and linkage as an assembly onto the door (7) and engage the retaining tabs that secure the carrier plate to the door. Rotate and tilt the carrier plate as necessary. Make sure the retaining tabs are fully engaged.
- Install the three screws (1) that secure the door latch to the rear of the door. Tighten the screws to 3 Nm (27 in lbs).
- Loosely install all the bolts (4) that secure the carrier plate to the door. Tighten the bolts securely.

- Route the door wire harness beneath the door seal and engage the seal to the door (1).
- Install the two screws (3) that secure the wire harness door bracket (4) to the door.
- Connect the two body wire harness connectors to the door harness and engage the grommet (2) to the cowl side panel. Make sure the grommet is fully engaged to the panel.
- Working through the access hole in the carrier plate (4), connect the linkage rods (1 and 3) to the exterior door handle (2) and engage the retaining clips that secure the rods to the handle. Make sure the retaining clips are fully engaged to the rods.
- Working through the access hole in the carrier plate (1), install the door lock cylinder shield (2), if equipped.
Use care when installing the door glass to prevent breakage. Do not force the glass into the door. Failure to follow this warning may result in serious injury.
- Install the front door glass (1) into the window opening. Tip the front of the glass downward to engage the glass onto the glass run and then carefully lower the rear of the glass into the door. Make sure the glass is properly positioned within the glass run.

- Working through the close out plug and speaker holes in the carrier plate, carefully engage the front door glass (1) into the two plastic retainer clips (2) located on the window regulator (3).
- Install the door speaker.
- Install the close out plug (1) onto the carrier plate (2).
- Install the front door trim panel.
