Liftgate Latch






Liftgate Latch

Removing

- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

- Remove the liftgate trim panel.

- Disconnect the power locking latch cable (1) from the exterior liftgate handle (2) and remove the cable from the handle.






- Disengage the retaining clip that secures the lock cylinder rod (5) to the lock cylinder (6) and disconnect the rod from the cylinder.






- Disconnect the wire harness connectors (2) from liftgate latch (4).

- Remove the three screws (3) that secure the liftgate latch to the liftgate (1) and remove the latch.

- Disengage the retaining clip that secures the lock cylinder rod (2) to the liftgate latch (1) and disconnect the rod from the latch.






Installing

- Connect the lock cylinder rod (2) to the liftgate latch (1) and engage the retaining clip that secures the rod to the latch.






- Position the liftgate latch (4) to the inside of the liftgate (1) and install the three screws (3). Tighten the screws to 11 Nm (95 in lbs).






- Install the lock cylinder rod (5) onto the lock cylinder (6) and engage the retaining clip that secures the rod to the cylinder.

- Connect the wire harness connectors (2) to the liftgate latch.

- Install the power locking latch cable (1) to the exterior liftgate handle (2) and connect the cable to the handle.






- Install the liftgate trim panel.

- Reconnect the negative battery cable.

- Verify liftgate alignment. Refer to => [ Liftgate Gap Specifications ] Liftgate.
