Right Exhaust Manifold

Removing





- Remove the engine cover from the 4 ball studs - arrow - one after the other.

- Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Draining and Filling.

- Remove the differential ventilation hose - 1 - from the upper air filter housing.





- Disconnect the electrical harness connector - 3 - from the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor (G70).

- Disconnect the charge air hose - 4 - from the turbocharger.

- Release the clips - 2 - and remove the upper air filter housing.

Vehicles with Air Suspension





If necessary, remove the electrical connector for the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 (G108) from the bracket at the right strut tower for better access.

- Press the circlip - 1 - forward from hose coupling.

- Press the release ring - 2 - down - arrows - and remove the ventilation hose - 3 - from the upper air filter housing.

- Remove the connector - arrow - from the bracket and disconnect it.

- Remove the connector bracket from the cylinder head cover.

- Remove the coolant hose - arrow - from the coolant expansion tank.





- Remove the bolts - 2 and 3 -.





- Remove the charge air pipe from the hoses - 1 and 4 - and remove the pipe downward.

- Remove the nuts - 1 through 8 - and the exhaust manifold.





Installing

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Replace gaskets and self-locking nuts.

Hose connections and charge air system hoses must be free of oil and grease before installing.

Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type, refer to the parts catalog.

- Fill the cooling system. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Draining and Filling.
