Steering Column Combination Switch (E595), Valeo

Depending on equipment, the Steering Column Combination Switch consists of the following components and cannot be disassembled:

Turn Signal Switch (E2)

Windshield Wiper Switch (E)

Cruise Control Switch (E45)

Always follow the sequence when removing and installing steering column switch components. Refer to => [ Steering Column Switch Module Components, Removing and Installing Sequence ] Steering Column Switch Module Components, Removing and Installing Sequence.

Risk of airbag deployment!

The airbag unit could deploy if mishandled.

Read the safety precautions when performing work on the airbag.

Always follow the instructions regarding disconnecting and connecting the battery. Refer to => [ Battery (A), Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery (A), Disconnecting and Connecting.

Removing

- Disconnect the battery. Refer to => [ Disconnecting ] Disconnecting.

- Removing the steering wheel.

- Remove the steering column trim.

- Remove the steering column electronic systems control module (J527). Refer to => [ Steering Column Electronics Control Module (J527), Valeo ] Steering Column Electronics Control Module (J527), Valeo or => [ Steering Column Electronics Control Module (J527), Kostal ] Steering Column Electronics Control Module (J527), Kostal.






- Release the catches - 1 - (on top) and - 3 - (on the bottom), and remove the steering column combination switch - 2 - straight toward the back from the steering column switch mount.

Installing

- Slide the steering column combination switch into the guides on the steering column switch mount until it latches securely.

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Connect the battery. Refer to => [ Connecting ] Connecting.
