Lubrication System Components, Assembly Overview






1 15 Nm

2 Sealing flange on belt pulley side

• Must be located on dowel sleeves

• Install with sealant (D 176 404 A2) => [ Sealing Flange, Belt Pulley Side, Removing and Installing ] Sealing Flange, Belt Pulley Side, Removing and Installing

• Removing and Installing, refer to => [ Sealing Flange, Belt Pulley Side, Removing and Installing ] Sealing Flange, Belt Pulley Side, Removing and Installing

• Seal for sealing flange - belt pulley side, replacing => [ Crankshaft Seal, Belt Pulley Side, Removing and Installing ] Crankshaft Seal, Belt Pulley Side, Removing and Installing

3 Pressure relief valve, 27 Nm

• Opening pressure 1.3 to 1.6 bar excess pressure

4 Oil spray jet

5 Oil dipstick

• Oil level must not be above the max. mark!

• Marks => [ Oil Dipstick Markings ] Engine Oil

6 Funnel

• Fastened to intake manifold

• For extracting oil

7 Guide tube

8 Fitting sleeves

9 O-ring

• Replace

10 15 Nm

11 Suction line

• Clean the screen if it is dirty.

12 Splash wall

13 Oil pan (upper section)

• Clean sealing surface before installing

• Install with sealant (AMV 176 400) => [ Oil Pan, Removing and Installing ] Service and Repair

• Removing and Installing, refer to => [ Oil Pan, Removing and Installing ] Service and Repair

14 15 Nm

15 22 Nm

16 Oil pan lower section

• Clean sealing surface before installing

• Installing => [ If the oil pan lower section was removed: ] Service and Repair

17 Seal

• Cannot be lost on the oil drain bolt

18 Oil drain plug, 30 Nm

• Replace

19 10 Nm

20 Oil pump

• with pressure relief valve 12 bar

• Before installing, check to be sure both alignment bushings are present (for centering oil pump/cylinder block)

• Replace if running surfaces and gears are scored

21 Chain sprocket for oil pump

• Pay attention to the installed position

22 Chain

23 20 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn) additional turn

• Replace

• Use the counterholder (T10051) to loosen and tighten

24 Chain tensioner with tensioning rail, 15 Nm

• when installing, pretension spring and hook in
