• Sleeve (VW 423)
• Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) (V.A.G 1331)
• Thrust Piece (T10203)
1 Sleeve
• For the shift shaft.
• Removing, refer to => [ Shift Shaft Sleeve , Removing ] Transmission Housing and Clutch Housing.
• Installing, refer to => [ Shift Shaft Sleeve , Installing ] Transmission Housing and Clutch Housing.
2 Shift Unit with Cover
• Replace together
3 Locking Pin
• For adjusting the shift mechanism.
• Removing.
• Installing.
4 Relay Lever
• Installed position, refer to => [ Selector Lever/Relay
Lever Installed Position ] Shift Mechanism Overviews.
• Plastic relay lever from 05.07. Refer to => [ Plastic Relay Lever ] Plastic Relay Lever.
5 Bushing
• Not needed with the plastic relay lever.
6 Seal
• For the shift shaft.
• Pry out with a screwdriver.
• Installing.
7 Cap
• For the transmission ventilation
8 Shift Lever
• With a balance weight.
• Installing, refer to => [ Installing the Transmission
Shift Lever ] Shift Mechanism Overviews.
• Can be replaced with the shift mechanism still installed.
• Installed position, refer to => [ Selector Lever/Relay
Lever Installed Position ] Shift Mechanism Overviews.
• Adjust the shift mechanism after installation. Refer to => [ Shift Mechanism, Adjusting ] Adjustments.
9 Self Locking Nut
• 23 Nm
• Always replace.
10 Lock Ring
• Always replace.
• Not needed with the plastic relay lever.
Removing the Locking Pin - A - from the Shift Cover
- Remove the outer part of the locking pin.
- Pry out the locking pin with a screwdriver.
Installing the Locking Pin - A - to the Shift Cover
Installed Position:
Mark - 1 - faces toward mark - 2 - on the shift cover.
Installing the Seal - A - as Far as the Stop
