Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 3 G495

The exhaust gas temperature sensor threads are coated. Do NOT lubricate with hot bolt paste and make sure to tighten it to specification, refer to=> [ Exhaust Temperature Control Overview ] Description and Operation. Otherwise the fitting could come loose and accidents could occur as a result.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Tool Set 17 mm (T10395)

Ring Spanner 7-piece Set (3337)

Removing

- Remove the engine cover. Refer to => [ Engine Cover ] Engine Cover.

- Remove the nuts - arrows -.






- Remove the heat shield - 1 -.

- Release and disconnect the connectors - 1 through 3 - and unclip them from the mount.






1. Exhaust gas temperature sensor 3 - Orange connector

2. Exhaust gas temperature sensor 2 - Brown connector

3. Heated oxygen sensor - Black connector


- Free up the wiring.

- Remove the heated oxygen sensor - 4 -.






- Remove the exhaust gas temperature sensor 2 (- 2 -).

- Remove the exhaust gas temperature sensor 3 (- 3 -).

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:

When installing, bring all cable ties back to same positions.

- Install the exhaust gas temperature sensors maintaining the angle:

Exhaust gas temperature sensor 3 (- 1 -): Angle - 23° -.

Exhaust gas temperature sensor 2 (- 2 -): Angle - 30° -.

- Electrical connectors and wiring routing.
