Heated Oxygen Sensor G39 with Oxygen Sensor Heater Z19

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Ring Spanner 7-piece Set (3337)

Component location, refer to => [ Front Exhaust Pipe with Particulate Filter Overview ] Front Exhaust Pipe with Particulate Filter Overview.

Removing






- Remove the engine cover. Refer to => [ Engine Cover ] Engine Cover.

- Disconnect the connector - arrow - for the heated oxygen sensor.

- Free up the wiring harness.

- Remove the heated oxygen sensor - 3 - using a tool from the ring spanner 7-piece set (3337).






Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:

• New oxygen sensors are coated with assembly paste; the paste must not get into the slits of the oxygen sensor body.

• For a used oxygen sensor, only coat the threads with hot bolt paste. This paste must not come into contact with sensor slits. Hot bolt paste. Refer to Parts Catalog.

• Always install the oxygen sensor wire in the same location so it does not come into contact with the exhaust pipe.
