Power Tailgate Motor Test

1. Open the tailgate and remove the left quarter pillar trim.

2. Pull down the rear section of headliner Service and Repair.

3. Disconnect the 2P connector (A) from the power tailgate motor (B).





4. Check the motor operation by connecting battery power to the terminal No. 1 and ground to the terminal No. 2. The motor should run.

NOTE: The tailgate will not move because the clutch is not engaged.

5. Reverse the leads, connect battery power to the terminal No. 2 and ground the terminal No. 1. The motor should run.

6. If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, replace the drive unit assembly Service and Repair.
