Mode 2: Checking Operating Conditions

The operating conditions under which the Engine Control Module has detected and stored an emissions-relevant DTC are displayed in this diagnostic mode.

Procedure
- Connect diagnostic tester. Connect Diagnostic Tester
- In diagnostic function "33 - OBD", select "Mode 2: Check operating conditions."
- Select the desired operating condition via the following table according to the PID (Parameter Identification), e.g. "PID 05: Coolant temperature".

NOTE: Measuring values of Engine Control Module (ECM) are displayed under "10 - Engine electronics" and measuring values of Transmission Control Module (TCM) are displayed under "1A - Transmission electronics".

PID1) Display operating conditions
02: DTC which triggered the current reception of all control module information
03: Condition of the fuel system
04: Calculated load condition value
05: Coolant temperature
06: Short time gasoline-air ratio bank 1
07: Gasoline-air ratio bank 1
12: Engine rotations per minute (RPM)
13: Vehicle speed

1) PIDs that are not relevant are not listed.

If DTCs are displayed in "PID 02":
- Repair stored malfunction(s) according to DTC table:
- SAE P0xxx-DTCs. P0011
- SAE P1xxx-DTCs. P0102
- SAE P2xxx-DTCs. P2101

Final procedures
The following work steps must be performed in the described sequence after the malfunction(s) have been repaired:

1. Check DTC memory. Mode 3: Check DTC Memory
2. If necessary, erase DTC memory. Mode 4: Reset/Erase Diagnostic Data
3. Generate readiness code. Readiness Code, Generating

- End diagnosis and switch ignition off.
