Pressure Reservoir

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench (V.A.G 1783)

Insert tool 10 (V.A.G 1783/1)

Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051 A)

Removing

The pressure reservoir is installed in the luggage compartment under the dirt tray cover and under the floor panel.

- Place the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels.

- Perform system vent using (VAS 5051 A). Refer to => [ System, Venting or Filling ] System, Venting or Filling.

- Remove the luggage compartment floor covering.

- Removing and installing dirt tray cover.

- Slowly loosen air line - 1 - on pressure reservoir - 2 - and allow air pressure to come down. When air pressure has escaped, remove air line - 1 -.






- Remove the bolts - arrows - and swivel the pressure reservoir - 2 - 90° upward.

- Guide the pin - A - and then pin - B - out of the holes - C - and remove the pressure reservoir.






Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- First insert the pin - B - and then pin - A - into the holes - C - and swivel the pressure reservoir 90° into the loading assistance.






- Install the bolts - arrows - and tighten to 4 Nm.






- Install air pipe - 1 - on pressure reservoir - 2 - and tighten. Refer to => [ Tightening Specifications ] Air Supply Unit and Solenoid Valve Block Assembly Overview.

- Place vehicle on wheels. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels.
