Level Control System Solenoid






Level Control System Solenoid

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench (V.A.G 1783)

Insert tool 10 (V.A.G 1783/1)

Removing

The Level Control System Solenoid (N111) is installed on the air supply unit under the right front wheel housing liner.

- Place the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels.

- Remove noise insulation.

- Slowly loosen air line - 1 - from the air supply unit and allow air pressure to escape. After the air pressure has escaped, remove the air lines.






The illustration shows the air supply unit removed.

- Disconnect the electrical connector on the level control system solenoid and remove the threaded connections - 1 -.






Note the anchor installation position - 4 -.

- Remove the Level Control System Solenoid - 2 - and spring - 3 - and anchor - 4 -.

- Remove the o-rings - 5 - and - 6 -.

The old o-ring - 5 - could still be in the housing - 7 -.

Installing

Always replace the o-rings.

- Coat the o-rings - 5 - and - 6 - with the supplied grease.






Note the anchor installation position - 4 -. The chamfer must point toward the spring.

- Install the spring - 3 - and the anchor - 4 - into the level control system solenoid - 2 -.

- Install the level control system solenoid - 2 - together with the spring and the anchor into the housing - 7 -.

Do not bend the coil when installing it.

- Install and tighten the threaded connections - 1 -. Refer to => [ Air Supply Unit and Solenoid Valve Block Assembly Overview ] Air Supply Unit and Solenoid Valve Block Assembly Overview.






- Connect the electrical connector to the level control system solenoid - 2 -.

- Install the air line - 1 - to the air supply unit.






- Install noise insulation.

- Place vehicle on wheels. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels.
