Erasing DTC Memory, End Of Output

- With ignition off, connect Diagnostic Operation System VAS 5051A with Diagnostic Cable - 3 meter VAS 5051/5A

Erasing DTC Memory

Requirements
- DTC memory of Climatronic Control Module J255 and Rear A/C Control Head (Climatronic) E265 checked Check DTC Memory (Function 02) and all displayed DTCs rectified







Indicated on display of Diagnostic Operation System VAS 5051A:
- Use address word "08" to select air conditioner/heater electronics (Climatronic Control Module J255)
- Select function "05 - Erasing DTC memory".







Indicated on display of Diagnostic Operation System VAS 5051A:
- There is no display in zone - 1 - .
- A box appears in display zone - 2 - with message that (DTC memory) data will be erased on touching "O.K." key and requesting confirmation that function is to be executed.

NOTE:
- If zone - 1 - displays message "DTC memory not yet checked"
- Check DTC memory.
- Rectify any malfunctions.
- DTC memory is not erased if, for example, ignition is switched off between interrogating and erasing DTC memory.

- On display of Diagnostic Operation System VAS 5051A, touch "O.K." box in zone - 2 - .
As soon as DTC memory has been erased, zone - 1 - displays message "DTC memory erased".
On display of Diagnostic Operation System VAS 5051A, touch box with key.
- Terminate self-diagnosis with Climatronic Control Module J255 Automatic Climate Control System
- Use address word "28" to select Rear A/C Control Head (Climatronic) E265 (optional equipment)
- Erase DTC memory of Rear A/C Control Head (Climatronic) E265 in same manner as DTC memory for Climatronic Control Module J255.
- Terminate self-diagnosis with Rear A/C Control Head (Climatronic) E265.

End Of Output

NOTE:
- DTC memory of Climatronic Control Module J255 (and Rear A/C Control Head (Climatronic) E265) checked and erased, basic setting performed and coding of Climatronic Control Module J255 checked. Climatronic Control Module J255, Coding (Function 07)
- Adaptation of Climatronic Control Module J255 (and Rear A/C Control Head (Climatronic) E265) checked. Adaptation (Function 10)







Indicated on display of Diagnostic Operation System VAS 5051A:
- Select function "06 - End of output".







- Wait until this display (start menu) appears on Diagnostic Operation System VAS 5051A.
- Switch off ignition and unplug diagnostic connector.
