Center Differential Housing Assembly Overview

The center differential housing can also be removed and installed with the transmission installed. Refer to => [ Center Differential Housing, Transmission Installed ] Final Drive, Differential (0B5A Automatic Transmission).





1 Ball bearing

• For flange shaft

• Refer to => [ Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing ] Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing

2 Spacer sleeve

• Pressing out and pressing in, refer to => [ Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing ] Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing

3 Securing ring

• For flange shaft

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing ] Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing

4 Plate spring

• Installation position: The side curved outward faces the shaft seal - 12 -

5 Adjustment shim

6 End shield

• Installation position: The tab must fit into the cut-out in the transmission housing.

7 Spacer sleeve

8 Adjustment shim

9 Center differential

10 Spring

11 Bolt

• Steel bolts

• Quantity: 2

• Replace

• Tightening specification and sequence => [ Tightening specification and sequence, center
differential housing ]

12 Shaft seal

• Refer to => [ Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing ] Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing

13 Flange shaft

• Without vibration damper

• Allocation

• Pressing out and pressing in, refer to => [ Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing ] Flange Shaft Seal and Ball Bearing

14 Bolt

• Aluminum bolts

• Quantity: 11

• Replace

• Tightening specification and sequence => [ Tightening specification and sequence, center
differential housing ]

15 Center differential housing

• Refer to => [ Center Differential Housing, Transmission Installed ] Final Drive, Differential (0B5A Automatic Transmission)

Tightening specification and sequence, center differential housing





- Tighten bolts according to the sequence.

- Tighten 3 aluminum bolts - 1 - to 8 Nm.

- Tighten 3 aluminum bolts - 2 - by hand until they touch.

- Loosen aluminum bolts - 1 - again and then tighten them by hand all the way.

- Install the remaining aluminum bolts - 3 - by hand all the way.

- Install the steel bolts - 4 - by hand all the way.

- Tighten all the bolts diagonally to 10 Nm.

- Tighten the steel bolts - 4 - to 15 Nm.

- Tighten all the bolts diagonally 90°.
