Input Shaft Assembly Overview

• Attach transmission to assembly stand. Refer to => [ Transmission, Securing to Assembly Stand ] Transmission, Securing to Assembly Stand.

• When installing new gears, consult technical data. Refer to => [ Code Letters, Assembly Allocation, Ratios and Capacities ] Code Letters, Assembly Allocation, Ratios and Capacities.

• Lubricate all bearings with gear oil when inserting on input shaft.





1 Securing Ring

• For the grooved ball bearing/input shaft - 6 -

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Transmission without Circlip A for Cap/Input Shaft ] Transmission Without Circlip A For Cap/Input Shaft

2 Spacer Washer

• Outer circumference = 78.6 mm

• Only insert with the changed transmission housing (from transmission production date 4.10.06 through approximately 1.20.08), refer to => [ Grooved Ball Bearing Changes ] Service and Repair

• Allocation, refer to the electronic parts catalog ETKA

3 Transmission Housing

• Adapted in the grooved ball bearing seat area - 6 - and spacer washers - 2 - and - 4 - from transmission build date 4/10/06 through approximately 1/20/08, refer to => [ Grooved Ball Bearing Changes ] Service and Repair.

• Flattened areas on grooved ball bearing and bearing seat approximately from transmission build date 1.21.08, refer to => [ Grooved Ball Bearing Changes ] Service and Repair

• Allocation, refer to the electronic parts catalog ETKA

4 Spacer Washer

• Outer circumference = 85 mm

• Only insert with the changed transmission housing (from transmission production date 4.10.06 through approximately 1.20.08), refer to => [ Grooved Ball Bearing Changes ] Service and Repair

• Allocation, refer to the electronic parts catalog ETKA

5 Securing Ring

• When replacing grooved ball bearing - 6 - and input shaft - 8 -, determine again => [ Determining Circlip ] Input Shaft

6 Grooved Ball Bearing

• Always replace

• Pulling off => [ Removing the Grooved Ball Bearing ] Input Shaft

• Installation location => [ Grooved Ball Bearing Installed
Position ] Input Shaft

• Pressing on => [ Press on the Grooved Ball Bearing
with the Rubber Ring ] Input Shaft

• Flattened areas on grooved ball bearing and bearing seat approximately from transmission build date 1.21.08, refer to => [ Grooved Ball Bearing Changes ] Service and Repair

7 5th Gear Toothed Wheel

• Pressing off => [ Removing the 5th Gear Wheel ] Input Shaft

• Installed position: the surrounding groove - arrow - points toward the grooved ball bearing - 6 -

• Pressing on => [ Installing 5th Gear Wheel ] Input Shaft

8 Input Shaft

• With 3rd/4th and 6th gear wheels

9 Roller Bearing

• With circlip

• Pulling out => [ Pulling Cylindrical Roller
Bearing off Clutch Housing ] Input Shaft

• Installing => [ Pressing Cylindrical Roller
Bearing into Clutch Housing ] Input Shaft

• Installed position: the circlip in bearing points to input shaft
