Torque Converter Shaft Seal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Extractor Lever (VW 681)

• Thrust Piece (T10137)

Procedure






- Remove the torque converter. Refer to => [ Torque Converter ] Removal and Replacement.

- Pry out the shaft seal using the (VW 681).

• The illustration shows a different transmission.

- Apply ATF to circumference and sealing lips of the shaft seal.

• Installed position: Open side of the shaft seal faces the transmission.

- Install the shaft seal for the torque converter all the way onto the (T10137).
