Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.




3. Remove the CKP sensor bolt.
4. Remove the CKP sensor.



Installation Procedure





1. Inspect the CKP sensor O-ring and lubricate with a mineral based grease.
2. Gently insert the CKP sensor into the block.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

3. Install the CKP sensor bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).





4. Connect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
5. Install the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Perform the CKP system variation learn procedure. Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn (Service and Repair) .
