Removal

1UR-FE ENGINE MECHANICAL: ENGINE UNIT: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE

2. REMOVE FUEL HOSE

(a) Detach the clamp and remove the fuel hose Service Precautions.





3. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt.





(b) Detach the clamp and remove the No. 2 fuel tube Service Precautions.

4. REMOVE AIR SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 1)

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 wire harness clamp brackets.





(b) Remove the 2 bolts.





(c) Remove the 3 bolts, air switching valve and gasket.





NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the installation surface of the gasket.

5. REMOVE AIR SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2)

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 wire harness clamp brackets.





(b) Remove the 2 bolts.





(c) Remove the 3 bolts, air switching valve and gasket.





NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the installation surface of the gasket.

6. REMOVE NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS PIPE Removal

7. REMOVE NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE Removal

8. REMOVE NO. 4 AIR TUBE

(a) Remove the bolt and No. 4 air tube.





9. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR TUBE

(a) Remove the bolt and No. 3 air tube.





10. REMOVE NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS PIPE

(a) Disconnect the hose and remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 water by-pass pipe.





11. REMOVE NO. 8 WATER BY-PASS HOSE





12. DISCONNECT NO. 11 WATER BY-PASS HOSE Removal

13. REMOVE EGR COOLER ASSEMBLY Removal

14. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and front No. 1 engine mounting bracket RH.





15. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and front No. 1 engine mounting bracket LH.





16. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

17. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

18. REMOVE NO. 4 ENGINE COVER Removal

19. REMOVE NO. 3 ENGINE COVER Removal

20. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE Removal

21. REMOVE WATER PUMP PULLEY Removal

22. REMOVE NO. 1 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

23. REMOVE FAN BRACKET ASSEMBLY Removal

24. REMOVE SEPARATOR CASE Removal

25. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER





26. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER





27. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE

(a) Disconnect the 4 knock sensor connectors.





(b) Detach the 3 wire harness clamps.

(c) Remove the bolt and engine wire.

28. REMOVE NO. 11 WATER BY-PASS HOSE





29. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 8 bolts and 8 ignition coils.

30. REMOVE NOISE FILTER

(a) for Bank 1:

Remove the bolt and noise filter from the cylinder head cover LH.





(b) for Bank 2:

Remove the bolt and noise filter from the cylinder head cover RH.
