DTC B1242 - Wireless Door Lock Tuner Circuit Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
This DTC is output when one of the following occurs: 1) short in RDA or RSSI ground between the certification ECU and the door control receiver or 2); short RDA or RSSI ground when RC0 (5 V) output from the ECU is off.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CERTIFICATION ECU - DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER)
(a) Disconnect the U28 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the U36 receiver connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU (SUPPLY VOLTAGE)
(a) Disconnect the U36 receiver connector.
(b) Measure the voltage of the ECU.
Standard voltage:
NG -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER (+B TERMINAL)
(a) Reconnect the U36 receiver connector.
(b) Measure the voltage of the connector.
Standard voltage:
NG -- REPLACE DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER (OPERATION)
(a) Temporarily replace the door control receiver with a new or normally one.
(b) Perform the REGISTRATION procedures Engine Immobilizer System.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Check if the same DTC is not output.
OK:
DTC B1342 output does not reoccur.
NG -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU
OK -- END (DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER IS DEFECTIVE)
